I thought I'd start a new thread and see what gives.
This is about funny moments when swimming practice or in a race. I have one that comes to mind.
I was swimming a 400 IM (years ago), and was starting the breaststroke leg of it. Right after I made my first turn and surfaced, there was a gal swimming breastrstroke in my lane coming right for me. I thought I had somehow changed lanes on the turn, so I went under the lane lines and got in the empty lane.
She had made the mistake, not me, but I ended up getting her time and she got mine. But it made no difference; they DQd both of us.
Moral of story: swim in your own lane at all times.

Racing for the school and thinking I had won the breaststroke because I was way ahead...I jupmed up with raised fists..only to be told the other kid just reached out and touched before me...I should not have eased up in my last stretch...haha I was only 11.
