As I was browsing around for articles on tonights Bengals/Ravens game I ran across this article and this quote.
www.msnbc.msn.com/.../
"I mean, this isn't a soft sport. We don't play chess. This isn't swimming. This isn't one of those kind of sports. It's football. It takes a man to play this game, and to play this game you have to have passion.''
I had to laugh.

Oh,football players do 40 plays a game. Lets see at about 5 seconds per play, yes I could see how those fellas must be in prime condition. Im just exhausted thinking about it. So for a hr long game, they are engaged in physical activity for what 6-7 minutes. They practice 4 days a week and do a gamevery weekend for 16, throw in training camp I still see a alot of free time on their hands to sit around. I could be wrong, but Im thinking swimmers train harder and longer than the "ballplayer" sports.
I wish I could swim the 500 or the mile in 100 increments, get a shot of oxygen after each hundred and do another. Its not like those guys are running around whole game non stop in football. Oh, and lets not forget the time outs and all that clock stopage. Would be like doing a mile and halfway thru calling a time out saying, I need a little break.
