Masters Swimming Survey

A non-scientific survey on masters swimming experience(s). If you would like to participate, please answer the following: :) 1. # years of masters swimming 2. age started masters swimming 3. # years of age group experience, if applicable 4. age started age group swimming, if applicable 5. best masters event 6. favorite masters event 7. most hated masters event I guess I'll go first: 1. 1 year 2. 44 years old 3. 9 years experience, including some collegiate/abrupt halt due to rotator cuff 4. 11 years old (year round stuff) 5. 50 back 6. 50 fly/100 IM 7. 1500/distance free (I hate it even more than breaststroke)

    1. # years of masters swimming - 12.3 years 2. age started masters swimming - 30.3 3. # years of age group experience, if applicable, 11 years + 2.5 year college Note: I was surprised a few years ago when I discovered I had done master longer then age-group. 4. age started age group swimming, if applicable, 10 5. best masters event - 200 ***, closely followed by 200 Fly & 400 IM 6. favorite masters event - like swimming most of the event, for variety. 7. most hated masters event - I like them all 50yd to 5K, not much for open water swimming (done several lake swims and one ocean swim, which was rough/wavy), but too far from the ocean to regularly do them anyway.     1. # years of masters swimming - 15 years 2. age started masters swimming - Started when I was 25 (not any experience before) 3. # years of age group experience - N/A 4. age started age group swimming, N/A 5. best masters event - 100 back (8th place in Latin American master event) behind 1 Cuban, 3 Brazilians, 1 Venezuelian, 1 Argentinian and 1 other Mexican. 6. favorite masters event -100 free, 200 IM SC 7. most hated masters event - None

    Since this is my first post on your venerable forum I thought it was as good a place to start as any: 1. 8 year 2. 21 years old 3. 10 years experience - on and off 4. 7 years old (but I'm not sure if 'age group swimming' means the same on this side of the pond - that's when I joined my first club and competed) 5. 50m free / 50m back 6. 25m free / 25m back 7. Anything over 100m and / or anything involving breaststroke.

  • 1. 19, started in 1988 USMS Nats in Austin 2. 24 or 25 depends which day in may it was 3. 37, still compete in age group meets now and then 4. 6 but it was off and on till I was 12 also took a 8 month break in 1977 when I was 13 / 14 5. 25 fly, otherwise it's a toss up 50 bk, 100 bk, 50 fly, and unfortunately the 200 IM, 6. 25 fly, otherwise it's a toss up 50 bk, 100 bk, 50 fly, and unfortunately the 200 IM, 7. 1650 / 1500 / 1000 / 800 / 500 / 400 / 200 fly
