Actually some age groups are slower than the meet top ten from the World Championships. Some age groups had more foreign swimmers in them and this is the reason why this happens. A case in point, one of the swimmers from my LMSC did not place at the World Championships and in 2 events placed 14th and 20th. In the same two events in the USMS prelim top ten placed 4th and and 5th. So that is quite different. However this will not work for the FINA World Top Ten and that will follow the meet plus have better outside swims from the World Championship making that tabulation much faster for all age groups than in prior years.
With the World Championship attendance at Stanford in August 2006, it is intererst to see how much faster the 5th-10th places are in most age-groups.
