I have been trying to eliminate all advertising from my site but have really screwed it up badly and am working hard to accomplish this. As you know I am trying to be helpful with videos and I happen to also give swimming instruction and charge for the service. I am getting everything regarding sales off my site and the swimming classes off. I am actually too old to have anymore business than I have.
I'm glad that we have a cyberwarrior like Jim (&others) guarding these forums, even if my occasional outbursts garner the odd visit to the woodshed.
As long as Jim doesn't invite you to visit the woodchipper. :eek:

I think I mentioned this in the poll I did about TV coverage.
this past week I actually got to speak French with a Canadian Vet. She said to me that she knew English but was so glad that some one from the States could speak to her in French that she would be happy to go through the inofrmation in French.

I lived in Quebec for a few years, I learned to speak French almost overnight.
After two weeks there I was driving and investigating car accidents on my own. I wrote the reports in French and when I said the brakes failed the Chief of police asked me what I was talking about because I used the French word for brakes (freins) he did not know what it ment.
They were losing there ability to speak Freanch although they could not speak English. They were speaking a lot of slang. I would go buy my coffee - une cafe sil vous plait. When I paid in stead of merci they said thank you very much.
Now in Quebec they do not allow even English signage on the stores.
When I moved back to Ontario I had trouble speaking English because I had learned to speak and think in French. Instead of turning off the lights, I was closing the lights.

I was going to sponsor a race from Vancouver Island to Vancouver and was going to put up a $10,000 and have a Brewery put up prize money a few years ago but decided I would rather go to Mexico for the winter.
