Simple. You have absolute power to change any technique rules, start/finish rules, age up rules, sky is the limit as long as the rules pertain to swimming. What would you change and why?

Having been the closest thing to a rules dictator for many years (chairman of the rules committee), I can offer the following perspective on breaststroke (the stroke being my best stroke has nothing to do with this appraisal). Those learned men and women who first put the rule book(s) together placed it in its proper position, first among the strokes (c.f section 102 of the USMS rule book and 101 of the USA Swimming rule book). Nothing more needs to be stated :) . Leo This is the "string bean" principle. As a kid, I hated string beans (still do) and when my mom would serve them, I'd shove them in my mouth first and eat them as fast as possible just to get the torture over with quickly and then kill the taste with something better. Same with breaststoke in the rule books. -LBJ
