Today at our Masters practice I mentioned that Dennis Baker, who recently aged up into my age group, trains 10K/day. A teammate of mine, a 31 year old woman, remarked, "That's a lot of yardage for someone your age."

The age group team at our YMCA is called the Riptide. Someone wrote "Ebbtide" next to the word "Masters" on a poster near the pool.
At least he didn't write "Slack tide"--Ebbtide implies movement, even if it's backwards.
