Today I reached 2 of my goals.
1) 200 yds without stopping all flip turns
2) 1- mile under an hour - 54:00
I tried to think about stroke, and did what Ande suggested in one of his blogs about touching your mid thigh with your thumb for a complete stroke. (something to that effect) I realized it was no problem and didn't seem any different, so I must be doing that on a regular basis.
Most all of my work out was done with all flip turns with both free and back, except I miss calculated 2 turns on back and had to do open turns.
I make up my own work out no pull or kicks today (that's tomorrow) :
1 - 200 free - warm up
1- 200 back- easy to medium
5x50 on 1:00 - hard then down to easy
5 x25 on .30 - hard then down to easy
3 min rest
100 IM
1 x50 *** - head ups - needing to keep breathing and moving so not to have a heart attack after the IM (didn't count this 50 as part of my mile- IM"s are still a great work out)
1x50 back- easy
1x50 *** -easy
1x50 free-easy
The rest is 50's and 100 alternating free and back easy on the 1:00 or 2:00.
New goal - is to keep these 2 goals going on a regular schedule, shortening the time - then start looking into working on more speed on my sprints.
