I have just had an L4L5 laminectomy with fusion and am wondering what is on the other side of this.

herniated disk. Micro-discectomy with about 1-2" incision. Was sore for a number of months. Tried to swim about 4 weeks after surgery--mistake. Tried again about 8 weeks after surgery--nothing fancy--just plain swimming. Legs were weak (problem had been going on for about 4 months prior to surgery) but I was able to build back up.
I never learned to flip so that wasn't a problem. It just takes time.
