Why be in the pool at 6.15am noodling and chatting with your fellow noodler? Take it to Starbucks....
I don't like how kids these days wear those surf shirts or rash guards at the pool. I think the point is not to get sun burned but why not just wear sunscreen? I don't get it, it's a pool not ocean.
I hate when I have to swim at lap swimming and people take up the whole lane due to their overly dramatic wide strokes and they aren't even using noodles. They need the whole lane to do a flip turns. In addition, if you have to wear a floating belt, get the F out of the lap swimming lanes. These lanes aren't for floating!

My son (5) wears one because it keeps him warmer in the water. It has nothing to do with sun screen. We buy the kind that has no carcinogens. It has to do with keeping him warm. He's very skinny and gets cold even in an 80+ degree pool.
I joke with my latest training partner about how we need to throw some heads of lettuce to the noodlers (ie. Hippos) over in Lane 1. Its about the only thing missing. :D
i had a whole bunch of "swimming in a lane with someone that...." statements for rants, but i realized it really boils down to this one rant:
I HATE swimming in a lane with other people period. Other people do nothing but get in my way. Whether it's not knowing how to swim, not knowing how to circle swim, not swimming in a straight line, being too slow, being too old, making too many waves, or just not staying the hell out of my way while i'm working hard on my workout. I haven't had to share a lane with someone in the last 6 months, and it's been probably the most enjoyable 6 months I've ever swam. I now do everything I can to ensure I don't need to share a lane. I warm up at the end of warmups when everyone else is in the sprint lanes or drying off. Call me selfish, but it's the only way I'll have it. I don't miss being on a team either. I swim better, faster, and more focused when I dont have to deal with others around me.
That's my rant :)
