I want 2 rant against the people who take off band-aids in the pool and leave them floating around which makes it dirty..
I would think the chlorine in the pool water would make them clean :)
I've seen the floating band-aids and it's kinda creepy. I've had to stop once, fish one out, walking to the edge of the pool going "ooo, ooo, ooo," and put it in the trash. The only reason for doing this is so I know it's in the trash and not waiting to float into my mouth while swimming. Our pool is usually very clean.
The thing I hate is finding used wax earplugs… in the pool, on the side of the pool, anywhere, ewww.
Today the chlorine was so bad that two showers (one with chlorine shampoo and conditioner and one with Ion moisturizing shampoo and conditioner) were not enough to make my hair soft! They are having all the 4th graders in the county in this week for water safety classes, so maybe they figured they needed to have the pool ready to disinfect.
Can't wait for the bubble to come off (2 weeks) as that seems to lessen the effect of the chemicals.
We are at the beach this week and they have an outdoor kidney shaped pool(why do they even do that.)There are 2 possible straight lines to give the maximum distance between walls. The pool opens at 8:00 with adult only til 9 so my wife are there at 8:00 sharp and have started swimming .About 3 min. later a woman shows up and starts swimming down the other line so that we criss-cross every length. If she was swimming the curve this would have made some warped sense as she would have been swimming the maximum distance even though it meant crossing us every time, but no she was on the alternate straight course. It would have been just as easy and much safer if she had swum in the same direction as us.I kept expecting her to get the hint or get out,but she didn't:censor::censor:.If she is there tomorrow I'll do fly sprints.
I just want to blow off some steam about the dang noodle class that won't share the pool. Why do they even bother leaving a lap lane? (Just too lazy to take out that last lane line, I guess! That would be too much exercise for those flabbos)
I'm sorry if I'm being nasty. I'm suffering from Workout Interruptus. But jeez, I'll share a lane anytime. Why can't they?
I hate some of my swimmers who are such yardage junkies!!! They don't rest the right amount and screw up the interval for everyone else just so they can get "their yards in"!!! ARRRGH....so annoying.
And how about the swimmer who has windmill arms and hits everyone else eventhough I have him do high elbow recovery drills all the time!!!:frustrated:
Todays rant, there's a swimmer on our masters team who actually has tuberculosis, he trains and coughs, swims in the slow lane during noon. One of the coaches mentioned something to him about possibly infecting teammates & he said the guy he shares his lane with doesn't mind.
Don't come to practice with contagious diseases.

Look at it this way. The Windmill forces you to swim correctly. You're not going to connect unless your hand drifted out. If your technique is not good enough to avoid this swinger, then at least punish him and do a fist recovery. You know who it is and when he's coming down the lane.
