hmmm... so they want "alone time" and go to a pool with other swimmers nearby to get this alone time. Heh! I love that your wife kicked butt when they tried to "race" her. Haha I've been on the other end of this...sorta ("Not surprised..." I hear a few of you murmur!). At Newark once when we were 21, my wife and I were waiting on my Mother to come through arrivals. I had my had around her shoulder and was just innocently stroking her shoulder and rubbering her arm...no lewd touching or anything. This guy turns to her and says "Tell your boyfriend to quit stroking your arm...goddamn Octopus!" We still laugh at that. Sadly an octopus swims way faster than me.
  • I had just celebrated 7 months without any major cold or sinus infection. Then, whamo, xmas eve, I got really sick with a wicked cold. No swimming, no breathing, no fun. :shakeshead: I think I will only have hit the water 2x in 2 weeks ... I'm going to be really out of shape, and I really wanted to go to the team new year's practice ... Argh.

Meanwhile, at least may the wine go down fine! I'd throw in a dark chocolate smiley if I could... think of all the cacao flavinoids! ;) Seriously, past home remedies that have helped: Airborne, Zicam, echinacea and/or ginger tea, ginger in general (pieces of it in stir fry dishes for instance).... Feel better soon!

My "Registrar rant"... USMS members who don't renew on time! :frustrated: Is this you? If so, be kind to your Registrar by renewing NOW. Plus, if you don't renew before January 31st, you won't receive a March/April issue of USMS Swimmer magazine. Anna Lea ~One of 52 friendly USMS Registrars :)

...who want our $$$ :lmao: The vast majority of USMS Registrars (myself included) receive no monetary compensation for their noble efforts. Their satisfaction comes from knowing that they are contributing to the Greater Good of the adult swimming community... :violin:

having to untie a tight wet knot in my swim suit I don't know if this belongs here or in the "tricks of the trade" thread. First thing I do with any swimsuit I get is join the two loose ends of the cord with a square knot (see attachment or see images.google.com/imgres ) thus creating a long continuous loop. This link is animated and shows how to tie the square (or reef) knot: www.animatedknots.com/.../index.php Then tie the cord as you would a shoelace, pulling tight, (but without loose ends, it's still do-able). Try it, it's easy to do. Then whenever you want to untie the knot, just pull on any part of the cord, it will always become unknotted, never getting stuck.
