Don't even get me started about hot pools... I'm dreading when our outdoor pool closes, in fall, and our indoor pool temp. gets raised to 85 degrees. :badday:
My rant: Doing everything possible in my training and lifestyle habits to set myself up for a successful Nationals. Then, my first night at the hotel, noisy guests arrive at midnight and keep me up until 3AM. (They weren't doing anything to warrant a complaint to the front desk, but it was just noisy enough to hear through my ear plugs and keep me up.) So, I was tired for my first day of competition. :bitching:
Two Advil PM took care of things for the following night and I got personal best times in my 100 breaststroke and 50 free in the relay. :D
Final night: Too wound up to sleep well; I should have taken two more Advil PM. (My fault there!). I was so tired on the last day of competition, I swam my 200 breaststroke to survive. Although I kept my stroke and turns together and had solid splits, every length was too slow, resulting in a poor time. :badday: Live and learn...
Final rant: I experience post-meet insomnia for a couple of days following every swim meet. So, after a lot of tossing and turning, I give up, get up, and make the best of it by checking out the USMS Forums...
