I mostly swim in lap pools at gyms. Most people there do not swim. I keep hearing over and over, "I can't swim well because I have too much muscle." I rank that right up there with people that are fat and claim it's because of genetics or...'thyroid problems'. It can't possibly be because they don't excersise and they eat like ****. Those people piss me off too, they keep telling me how lucky I am as if my constant training and good diet is a minor part in the equation.....I am just lucky to be in shape. I am very low bodyfat with lots of muscle and I swim just fine. You can't swim well because you don't know how to swim and you never conditioned yourself for it! Muscle mass/bone density???? Keep your bro-science to yourself, it is nothing more than an excuse to make yourself feel better about your lack in an ability. Those things might make a difference at a competitive level, but even people with 10x more muscle mass then the people I keep seeing making claims like this can learn how to swim laps fine.
