Analogous to choosing a site in a public campground. Find a nice quiet one with 10 empty sites on either side and the very next camper will set up next door and turn on the boom box. It's human nature. :) So now I set up a decoy tent and wait till dusk to pick my site for the night. Aren't people supposed to pick a site equidistant from your tent and the end of campground? That's what I've been led to believe. I.e., if you're sitting in an empty row at the cinema, and you're in the middle of the row, the person who wants to sit in the same row will pick a seat between you and the end of the row rather than sit right next to you.
