This is the earthly manifestation of the Never-fails-always-happens Locker-room syndrome.
The locker room is empty; you're the only one there. You pick a nice empty locker, sit on the bench and start undressing. 9.99 times out of ten the next member who comes in to change will have his things either in the locker just above your head (if there are two rows of lockers) or the one immediately to your right or your left and the opening of the door will definitely slap you. And if your things were in the upper locker, the newcomer's locker will be the one in fron of which you're sitting.:)
