  • I just got back from a week on the WA coast.Where we stayed they had a small(about 50ftX3lanes)heated pool with no lane lines. At about 9:30 AM some noodlers would show up,but since the pool opened at 8:00 AM my wife and I just got there early to swim(though I'd have preferred to not need to get up early at the beach.)The last day was cold and rainy and I figured we'd certainly have the pool to ourselves. We got there at 8:03 and there was already a woman getting in the"center" lane.My wife asked if she would rather swim next to the wall and she said"I like the middle."I thought"OK,my wife and I do different workouts(she likes distance and BK,I like sprints especially BR),there are 3 lanes, and this woman was there first,we'll do fine."She then proceeded to swim elementary backstroke in what would be best described as a zigzag pattern. How she kept from knocking herself out on the wall or at least smashing her hand I have no idea as she didn't seem to have any clue where she was in the pool.Doing sprints in a short pool with an obstacle course is interesting.
