Fortunately mine was during warmup and my turn was relatively slow so there was not a lot of force going through the turn...but it still got my attention. Walking on it smarts a bit but seemingly less and less as the evening wears on. I blame the whole thing on having water polo players practicing in the pool. Well, that or the new suit I was wearing (see the swimsuit trends thread).
I was turning slow too (nothing unusual there though) but I had company in the lane and I was worrying about a crash and tried to stay near the rope but not get tangled...too many last minute adjustments and *dong* I clanged 'em good. Thankfully it was on the outdoor pool with aluminium not the indoor ceramic tiles!
