How great to beat your competition in a drag suit while they are in fastskins.
I won one masters LC nationals in the 50 m fly in a $20 dolphin suit - while flanked by gals in fastskins.
But I do wonder, is there a huge difference between summer leaguers and masters wearing fastskins at local/ dual meets . . . I remember attending my first masters meet in '02 or '03 and being amazed at the number of swimmers in pricey fastskins. I really thought everyone would be in poly suits. :joker:
I do feel for those kids who have a rude awakening when they get older . . .
Well, masters swimmers are at least adults who have earned the money that they may foolishly throw away on fastskins in their obsession with their sport. An army of 8 year old kids wearing fancy FS IIs makes me slightly ill. As do parents who bribe their kids with iphones to get them to make zone time cutoffs.
