Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is anyone who could help me. I swim 3-4 times a week and I have been looking at male swim briefs made by Speedo. I am having trouble with their sizing because thei size charts says to measure 1" above hips bones (or natural waist) but I find it strange because the elastic band of the brief sits below or on the hip bones.
I guess my proble here is: my hip bones measure 34" but just above my hip bones I measure 32"!! If I buy a 32", is it not going to be a little tight for me when the briefs sit on my hip bones?
In a swimwear store I was told to always buy a size above my usual pants size (which is 32").
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks a lot,
JM

I use my ordinary waist size for my swimmer’s briefs also. I’m fairly thin so Speedo briefs fit well and they’ve always been my favorite.
By the way, in addition to the traditional manufactures (like Speedo, Tyr, Nike, etc.) an Australian company is the latest newcomer into the swimwear market and they call their product “Aquadaks”:

I don’t know if they are immediately available in the U.S., however they will undoubtedly be coming to the stores in larger cities soon. When they do, I'm hoping buy a pair and check them out.
