I have been swimming for almost a year and have some basic kicking questions.
I hear the term 4 beat kick, 6 beat kick. What does that mean?
Also if there are types of kicks, what distances are they used in and when in the race are they used?
I don't even know what type of kick I am using. When I concentrate on form, I think I am kicking about 6 times for every cycle of my left hand. Sometimes when I am tired my kick goes to sleep and I don't even know what it is doing. Something less than 6 beats though.
When racing should I maintain the same kick and energy level in the kick?
some help in this would be appreciated.
