Ok,
There is a new reality TV show on CBS which aired last night called Tuesday Night Book Club. Set here in Scottsdale, it seems like it's trying to be a reality version of Desperate Housewives. The show is pretty disturbing to say the least, except for one couple who seem to be the most real.
Our former coach (and masters swimmer) Matt Rankin and his wife Cris are on it! I am catching the last 15 minutes of the show and realize he is on it. Was astonished to say the least.
For the record, Matt is a great guy and was a great coach to us. He had some major issues and left for about 9 months. Came back here last fall and is coaching again which is his love. Not coaching masters but age group team in West Valley.
Anyway, just thought I'd let y'all know if you want to see it...

I saw this and thought it was pretty strange. Occasionally I had to change the channel because it just got too weird (but curiosity would get the best of me so I eventually would change back to it). In the end I could not decide if these were real people living out their lives on national TV, or if they were actors following a script.
If this is for real then it is totally bizarre. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to air out their dirty laundry like that. Its kinda pitiful really. I caught the end of the show and realized that this was a continuing story. No thanks, not for me, once was enough.
“Save the drama fer yer momma.”
It is strange not sure if they are all for real, Matt's is. I only pray that he stays sober for the good of everyone he comes in conact with. He is such a wonderful person and deserves a second chance, which Cris is giving him to her credit. I hope the show doesn't cloud the real stuff he is dealing with.
