The recent post on David Hasselhoff got me thinking about one hit wonders in Swimming. Tracy Wickam for 1978's world records in 400 & 800 Free ......4:06 & 8:24 I think....and didn't it take Janet Evans to break these records ?????? Someone may remember this.... Any other one hit wonders ??? (or brief stays at the top?)

I remember Sean as a tubby ten-year-old! He was fast then, too. I think he was setting Mid-Atlantic records when he was 10. I also remember swimming against him once in the 100m free at the summer league championships. Our summer league, the Tri-County Swimming Pool Association of South Jersey, was and still is a huge (very competitive) summer league. We both went 55's in the 100m free (SCM) but he beat me...and he was 3 or 4 years younger! He was taller, very skinny and very fast by the time he was 15. Trivia: what other Jersey Wahoos swimmer went to the Olympics in the 1500? (clue: he also attended Peddie). :) Bill
