Hey, when you run, you stretch, warm up, stretch, jog, slow run...etc.
What do you folks do when you swim to warm up? or do you? or just slow swim to warm up?? Not that I'm proficient enough yet to worry bout it, but I thought about it when I was stretching to run this morning.
Thanks,
Mark
It always takes me a long time to warmup. I always stretch a lot before getting in, mostly to keep my shoulders loose and pain-free. In the water, warmup for me is slower swimming, trying to stretch out my stroke as much as possible. I usually like to do a continuous 4-500, and then do a bunch of shorter swims with higher rest... such as 50's with a good pause between each to fully catch my breath, get my heart rate back down, etc. These are not fast -- just long and smooth.
Warmup is different for each person. Best thing -- try a bunch of different combinations, and see what works best for you.
