Type of Suit?

Hello all. I started swimming for the first time in my life about a year and a half ago. As such I am very slow, but that is ok with me. I recently swam in my first masters meet and it was a lot of fun. I however need some suggestions on type of suit. I currently wear a baggy recreational suit, and my coach says time to upgrade. Since I have lost 70 pounds in the last year, (but still have all the skin) a speedo is out of the question, what I need is a comfortable but yet snugger fitting suit. Maybe just a better recretional suit? Your suggestions appreciated.

  • I disagree with the advise you should not wear a drag suit because you are essentially wearing one now. A true drag suit will be about 99% less drag that the baggie trunks you are currently wearing. They are also less tight than a jammer and may suit your needs, plus they last forever. I have had great luck with the Speedo poly mesh square leg along with TYR's similar offering. A jammer is just a long version of the traditional tight speedo. I will say that once you reach a comfort level a jammer is a good choice.
