You can register on line now at
On-line Meet registration
You can register for up to five individual events and the open water swim.
On Saturday August 12, the day after the open water swim, you can swim from Alcatraz to Aquatic Park, about 2 Km. There was only one prisoner who swim from Alcatraz Prison and made it to shore. Now you can make the same swim.
The water will be cool - about 60-64 degrees. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay bridge and downtown San Francisco while swimming from the island to shore.
After swimming the 2 KM course, you will be rewarded with great food and a t-shirt to memoralize your swim. You will also have a swim cap you can wear at practice to impress your lane mates that you swam one of the worlds great open water swims. You will also get a certificate that you can put on your office wall to show your friends that you were able to swim from Alcatraz to shore.
The swim from Alacatraz has a great view of of a very picturesque city. If you have already entered, you can go back to add it to your registration. If you have not entered yet, be sure to enter the swim. ( you can wear a wet suit).
