OK, I'm persuaded by Peter Cruise's discussion of Canadian beer and have decided to forego swimming at USMS Nationals this year. Instead, I'm off to Calgary to try the Canadian Nationals.
So here's the challenge to all you Canadian Forum users: where are the good local brews in Calgary? By local, I mean that it can't cross Province lines & doesn't come in cans.
I'm staying near the pool & won't be driving. So, I need some suggested locations within staggering (er, walking) distance of the hotel.
If some swimming gets done that's fine, but I'd like to come home with a good beer experience. Right now I'm starting my beer taper (nothing but 3.2 in very quick shots - the high intensity, low volume theory) until the Champs.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Mel,
I am sure the organizing committee will have all sorts if local knowledge for you! Glad to hear you will be swimming at the Canadian Nationals. It should be fun. Remember Calgary is at 3300ft. Any other USMS members coming up?
Vancouver Island has a lot of excellent micro breweries, as does Vancouver. In fact BC has lots to choose from. Not being from Calgary, I don't know the local ones. Perhaps a google search would help. No Doubt those friendly Calgarians and Albertans will offer a tour for you!
One BC brew is called "Amnesiac" which could prove 'useful' for those swims that weren't quite up to par!!:) :D ;) There is also chocolate beer which is excellent, the hemp beer also very good, and raspberry beer very palatable.
Hey George, didn't you move to "Drunken Duncan" or close by there?
