Anyone else find it a bit odd that the cover of the May/June issue shows "swimmers" wearing flotation vests?

I have to say, I just registered to this webiste yesterday, and I am thoroughly enjoying these messages! Perhaps I shouldn't read them at work so I can laugh as loud as I want.
I am one of those swimmers who hasn't been on a team in quite some years as the practice times/locations are not convenient for me, but I have continued to stay in decent shape on my own. I really love competing, and decided to actively seek out a meet this summer. It appears the only meet is world's in CA. It sounds like a great meet and I think I have the times. My only concern is that it is a large meet and I will be swimming unattached. Any input?
