How Competitive are You?

I have always been competitive, but I think the gene was dormant until I entered a couple of swim meets. Now I want to win at everything! Example: We had an Easter competition at my office - guess the number of jelly beans in a jar and win some prizes. Well, I didn't win and I am bummed! It's not like I need or wanted the prizes, I wanted to win. Is there such thing as Competitors Anonymous? Anyone else with the competitive gene? How far would you go to win?

Hi Everyone - I love swimming for fitness, recreation, and the social opportunities it provides rather than for the competitive aspect. However, I am very competitive when it comes to scientific and engineering research. In fact, I am one of the patent holders for the automatic shut down process used to protect elevators from earthquake damage. We were the “first” to employ it in California in 1972. Being a “Techno Geek” is quite competitive when you have to get a product on the market before someone else. However, I do some of my best thinking while lap swimming. Cheers and happy swimming - California Dolphin :D
