This is my second post here (first one was about my lower back pain which is finally getting better, thanks!). How should I organize my 3 swim workouts/wk (well, actually 2, because 1 is organized by a group)? Below may be helpful for you to make suggestions.
- I have been swimming freestyle for about a year. Took some lessons at the beginning.
- I am a triathlete - but can't run/bike hard right now. So I would like to concentrate on swimming.
- 100yd best: 1:26 (Feb 06)
- 1500m open water best: 2:04 pace/100m (Sept 05) (slow.. even with wetsuit :D )
- One of the 3 workout is with a tri/swim group - 3500-4000yd which includes various interval (

"Long aerobic swim" is the difficult one - I have done 1500yd and that was BORING! I guess I will have to get used to a 'long aerobic swim' because that is what a swim leg of a tri race is all about.... My ankles are flexible - they can point straight out - but my kicks are very poor. Time for a coach, for sure.
How could swimming only 1500 yds be doring. that is one of th egreat swims. You should always be proud of yourself that you did it. try swimming 6000 yds.
