  • Simon Burnett: 1:31.20 200 free 21.28, 23.16, 23.09, 23.67 I'm amazed he held 23s for the last 150, after opening with a 21.2. Anyway, it's the fastest 200 yard free ever. Michael Phelps is probably quaking. Converted, that about two-tenths of the 200-meter free world record. Makes me wonder how fast Ian Thorpe could go in a 200-yard free. But I don't think he has great turns, so he probably couldn't outdo Burnett. 1:31.20. I imagine they gave him a very long and well-deserved standing ovation. That swim is better than Lochte's 1:40.5 200 IM.
