i'm a marathon runner planning on getting into tris and therefore must get back into the pool. in the past, i associated swimming with rehab from my knee surgeries and am just starting to get interested in swimming as a sport. how do you deal with menstration and racing/training? up until now i have just skipped the pool that week, but that can't be the only answer.... sorry to be TMI but i really have no clue what competitive swimmers do and had to give in and finally ask :) i am up to being able to swim 20-30 minutes of freestyle consecutively and got a DVD to learn flip turns. i guess it is time to start working in some drills and speedwork as well ... thanks for humoring a newbie! jenna

  • I used to not be able to use tampons (high school fears etc...) and was on the Diving team. being in the water does stop the flow for awhile, and I would put a small pad in the little pocket area of the suit and even that seemed to work. since I started using Tampons (Thank god for them btw!) Everything is hunky dory, never had a problem. You'll do fine, and good luck!!
