I've heard rummors that a Speedo Fastskin only lasts for about 4 or 5 wearings is this true?
I'm begining to wonder if this is true. Last year I bought a fastskin I from speedo (a kneeskin with a zipper back) and let me tell you it was a struggle to get it over the hips. Well I wanted to try the full leg model with the bathing suit back so I just purchased one from speedo (same size) and didn't get it past my thighs. I didn't even try to get it on because I noticed a small rip in the seam around the calf area, so back it goes. I wish speedo would run them through an inspection before they send them out. This one was obviously returned.
Anyhoo,
I tried my old one on and it was so easy to get on. It even went over my hips easier. So, I think it definately stretched out. I wore that suit a total of 3 times. I remember when I first got it it was painful to get over the hips, but could be done.
Also,
Does anyone have any opinions on what type of suit they like to wear for specific events? Do butterfliers like a bathing suit back on the fastskin? Do backstrokers notice the difference now that the zipper is in the front on the Fastskin II?
Just Curious.

I have worn mine 7 times, but my daugter has worn hers at least 10 times. I think that it depends on how tight the suit is. Some of the kids I coach wear their suits really small (size 20) and they only last around 6-8 times, but mine is still just fine.

5 or 6 times would be okay by me if the results were sufficient. I am making some gains in my sprinting times so I just might spring for a FSII Jammer before my next meet. We'll see.
