Does anyone have some ideas of how to incorporate more drills into workouts without sacrificing too much productivity or yardage.
I'm looking for specfic drills and sets. Also a percentage of time that should be spent on drills. I know that changes through out the season but throw some numbers at me.
THANKS!
I also posted this in the workout section.
Last year I was using the workouts that Mo Chambers posted.
She usually had a warm-up of 200 swim, stretch, and 100 swim or pull followed by a set of drills. The Drill set was like an extension of the warm-up and also helped create a focus for the main set which followed next.
That format really seemed to work well for me.
In addition to warm-up, I like drills as part of cool-down. It's good to drill when you are tired. Also, drills can be part of the main set. During a set of 100s, 200s, or whatever, you can drill every 4th length or alternate 50 drill/50 swim and still stay on a interval.
