What's Your Swimming New Year's Resolution?
Do you want to swim faster? Break a record? Lose a couple pounds? Lower your cholesterol? Learn a new stroke or perfect one you've already learned?
Whatever the resolution, we'd love to hear about it. We're writing a fun piece about New Year's Resolutions on the USA Swimming web site, and would love to include your responses.
Please e-mail your responses including:
1) Your Name
2) Your Age
3) Your Hometown
...plus 3-4 sentences describing your Swimming New Year's Resolution. All responses will be included, but responses are due by Friday, January 6th.
E-mail responses directly to: editor@usms.org

I resolve to:
Swim far faster.
Swim fast farther.
Complain less, and a little more creatively.
Do that darn fly set, even (especially!) when I don’t want to!
Encourage my teammates more, even when they're kicking my rear end!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :D

My only swimming related goals for '06 are to drop my time for the Wharf swim (Santa Cruz, CA) to below 25 minutes; and to swim Donner Lake in under 1:10:00. It'd also be nice to go sub 40 for Alcatraz, but since that is so current dependent, I won't set that as an actual resolution.
I also want to drop 10 minutes from the bike leg, and 15 minutes from the run at the Sentinel Triathlon (combined with the swim goal, that would give a respectable time of 2:16). But this is a Swimming forum, not a Trigeek forum. :)
I resolve to...
think about swimming when I'm swimming. I mean, using practice to improve technique rather than zone out and drown my day...
do core strength training twice per week
don't worry, be happy
