Hi All,
I am planning a Disney trip in a few months, arriving home 2 days before our Provincial championships. While I'm not expecting to set the world on fire at the meet, I may sink and drown if I take 2 weeks off from practicing. Any pool suggestions for the Anaheim area would be appreciated. Advise on a hotel with a reasonable pool would be terrific. Pam

Well, the closest is in Fullerton Ca probably about 10 miles away. It isn't everyday and you would find the details on Clubs in the Southern Pacific, if you go to Lmsc links and then clubs in Southern Pacific.
Fullerton is really the closest. And it's a nice pool (I learned to swim there). They have a Master's team, mornings and evenings, but their website seems to be down. I would not look forward to driving from Anaheim to Mission Viejo.
Within a decent driving distance is the Mission Viejo Pool, where this years long course championships were held. Also fairly close by is the Irvine pool where the duel in the pool was held last August. Both pools have great coaches - Mark Moore coaches at Mission Viejo and Mike Collins at Irvine
(I am surprised Connie Cat did not quickly chime in as she swims at Mission Viejo).

Hi Connie!
I will be in CA for the holidays, too. I will be staying with my sister part of the time, and she lives in Garden Grove. May I join a Nadadores workout too? Do you have specific rules/times for visiting Masters swimmers?
I may also want to try out Fullerton. Do you know anything about the program there?
Thanks!
Diana
The pool in Long Beach (Belmont Plaza Olympic somethingorother) is home to the Long Beach Grunions, an fairly new and very friendly Masters club. I am sure they will welcome you to join their workouts if you so choose. www.lbgrunions.com
The pool is about a 30 minute drive from Disneyland.

Here are some links to a few pools in the area. There are quite a few more than these, but this will be a good start
Janet Evans swim complex in fullerton
I grew up in fullerton and this is probably the closest pool. I don't know anything about the masters team there though.
William Wollet and North Wood HS in Irvine
The Nova Masters practice at both of these pools and they accept drop ins. Irvine is just down the 5 FWY from Disney land.
Mission Viejo Nadadores
Mission Viejo is a bit of a drive from Disneyland and garden grove, but I swim with them and know that we definitely welcome traveling swimmers. And we have lanes for all ability levels and lots of work out times.
Belmont Plaza in long beach
Long beach is also close and Belmont Plaza is a very nice olympic sized indoor pool with lap swimming.
I hope this helps.
