I’m not sure what you mean by “The concerns were voiced to HC a couple months back”. Were these passing comments or did someone call a team meeting to address the problems?
I’d suggest calling a club meeting with the head coach and address specific concerns and provide specific solutions. If the coach is like most they would rather hear solutions instead of a list of complaints.
How about instead of hinting make a helpful suggestion. Saying that you want more interesting workouts isn't helpful. Interesting is a personal preference. Try saying, you know HC used to have us do blah blah blah and I think it was a really great set and got us working hard and motivated. I felt like I improved with that. Or sets like such and such really make me work hard. If that doesn't work then go to the HC and ask if he can give the asst. coach some ideas or ask to see his workouts.
