I recently swam my first meet in over 20 years and one of the areas I found that needed the most improvement was my Backstroke Start. Presently it's can be characterized as either a "bellyflop on my back" or "how much water can I push back"
I can't seem to get clearance and my feet slip - My goal is to be able to clear most of my body out of the water and "dive" in with my fingertips.
Any and all advice is appreciated.

Backstroke starts arn't exactly the easiest thing to master...getting a really good start takes a lot of practice. I think there are some videos on swim.ee that might be able to help you. They have a lot of vids of the pros doing technique/starts/finishes so maybe they'll have a good backstroke start. Other than that I can't really give you any specific advice :(...
