Maybe what they are trying to say is your head can be looking straight down but these goggles will allow you to look forward even with that desirable head position. If that's true I think there's some merit. Don't knock 'em till you try 'em! Actually, the goggles theoretically force your head down. They're not designed to encourage you to look forward, but instead ensure that if you do, it's with your head pointed downwards and your eyes rolled up. Because you can't see through the bottom half, they force you to point your head downwards so that you can see through the top. (kind of like the way you point your face down to look over the top of reading glasses when you want to speak to someone)Also, I gather they're slanted to make that view better. I really agree with the comment "don't knock em till you try em", however. I'm going to get a pair for my daughter and see if they work. I'm somewhat stunned at all the negative comments which appear to be based on people looking at pictures, rather than trying them out. It seems almost like some elitest disdain for mere "merchandise". As if to say: how can a "product" help swimming position....? Those offering their contempt may be absolutely right. They may be an absolute crock and a rip-off, but let's at least evaluate them with some semblance of a scientific or fact based method...no? I'll try and report back in a few weeks (provided they fit her face well - otherwise I won't get them)
