Hey there I'm glad I found this site :) I've nver been a competitive swimmer but I do consider myself a stong swimmer. Intramural swimming, water polo, lifeguarding, etc. I've recently started to swim again for exercise and I have a couple questions, forgive me if they've been answered on other boards. (I looked but there are Soooo many posts! Yay!)
How long does it take the average person to swim a mile?
How far can the average person swim in 30 minutes?
I'd like to be able to do a 30-minute mile, but I don't know if that's reasonable. It currently takes me 45 minutes to do a mile, but I swim mostly *** stroke and I also do crazy stuff in the water to increase resistance (so I can be all skinny and stuff hehe)
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

With practice you'll get a lot better.
You might want to look into finding a coached masters workout group or a team near you.
Having a coach made a huge difference for me!
