After reading the thread, 'Your worst swimming experience', I thought I'd offer my 'Best swimming experience' - well, by far the best to date!
I know we've all experienced great happiness after producing a best time in competition, or the joy of winning. And quite right too, it means a lot to us swimmers.
I was swimming in Palma, Mallorca at the European Masters a few years ago. I'd never won a big event before, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I managed, after a close finish, to win the 200m fly.
After climbing out of the pool I heard someone say, "Well done, Graham, that was a great swim." I turned around expecting to see a team mate of mine.
The voice came from a beautiful blonde Swedish swimmer. I'd never met her before and didn't know who she was. She then said, "I've got a bottle of champagne waiting for you at my hotel. We can celebrate your win."
If your best swimming experience can match this it will make interesting reading.
(Yes, I accepted the kind offer of a drink!).

Now if you could only continue this story with something along the lines of.....After I got out of the hotel pool I saw one of the flight attendants waving me over to where her and her super hot flight attendant friends were sunbathing.....when I came over to see what she wanted, she said that she and her friends thought I looked totally hot swimming laps and would I like to crash thier little slumber party tonight...etc...
See.....It is possible to top Graham's story as long as it has a little fiction sprinkled in here and there.
