questions on qualifying for FINA World Masters Champs
Former Member
1. How does it work if I change age-groups during the year? Do I have to swim a Q-time after I age-up or if I've swum a Q-time for my current age-group, am I good to go?
2. Can I qualify with a converted SCY time? There are no LCM meets near me. Well, there is the LCM state champs but that is just one week before the FINA meet.
Thanks
Masters isn't like USA Swimming. You don't have to prove your time and many people submit their best guess. However if your swim at Worlds isn't faster than the qualifing time, you will not have an official time(just as if you were DQ'd.)
You don't change age groups in Long Course (US or FINA). Your age is that on December 31, 2005 (or whatever year it is). You are already in the next age group, whenever your birthday will be/already was.
