Help!
I'm trying to aquire the motivation to swim daily...well six days a week, one day of rest. I need to lose around 50 pounds by winter, but I still can't get myself in the pool.
I don't know why. I guess a few reasons could be:
(1) Social anxiety
(2) People seeing how fat I am
(3) Failing
Can someone help me gain motivation to get into the pool so I can improve my life?
Thanks!
Best,
Chris
Just to echo some others: The only thing that helps me remain motivated is swimming with a group. I swam by myself for a few years, and I'd always fall out of the habit. But having a team engages me more & keeps me coming back.
As for weight, when I first started with my team, I lost about a pound a week, going from 190 to 175. (And that was keeping my cupcake and beer consumption at pretty high levels.) Now, I don't lose so much, but I'm hoping that's muscle.
Good luck.
