Help!
I'm trying to aquire the motivation to swim daily...well six days a week, one day of rest. I need to lose around 50 pounds by winter, but I still can't get myself in the pool.
I don't know why. I guess a few reasons could be:
(1) Social anxiety
(2) People seeing how fat I am
(3) Failing
Can someone help me gain motivation to get into the pool so I can improve my life?
Thanks!
Best,
Chris

I agree with SwimminONandON. If your goal is to lose weight, your first concern would be to maintain an elevated heart rate.
Just get in there and swim. Breaststroke, sidestroke, freestyle, doggy-paddle, ... whatever. First get a feel for the water. Get some minimal level of conditioning so that you can actually complete 500 (or whatever) yards without passing out. The techniques and drills and special workouts and sets and all, they can be added in over time.
