Makes you wonder what they put in the pool water at UT. Apparently, just music, which appears to work quite well. I don't think anything is wrong per se with Phelps. Everyone is expecting and bracing themselves accordingly for him to get burned out or injured like his sister was. Coughlin may have been absent from training for several months but so was Peirsol. He took 4 months off after Athens to travel and didn't really get back into his regular schedule for quite some time, which showed a bit in Santa Clara (5th in the 200 prelim, 13th in the 100.) Yikes! After that, he got serious again. Coughlin sounds depressed in interviews - like she counts herself out before the meet even starts. Rogan has also done that, by telling the media days before the meet, that he didn't think he could beat Peirsol. He can, he just doesn't believe it.
