Strange problem with fly

So as I'm continuing to get back into swimming and such I've been working on my various strokes. I've noticed that I'm having an odd problem with my fly. Sometimes while doing my fly when I'm comming up I'll go almost half vertical for no real reason, which really puts a dent in my momentum and such. I haven't been able to figure out why I'm doing this...if it's just a strength issue or if I'm perhaps going too deep under the water sometimes before comming up. Any ideas on how to correct this?
