Are Triathletes worth the dues they pay toward Masters Swimming?
I say we force all Triathletes to spend one day a week in the sprint lane, one day a week doing stroke (i.e. IM) work, and then make them focus on their starts and turns.
This invasion needs to be controlled.... :-)

They want everyone to swim drills never any stroke correction they believe drills solve any problems. Swimmers do drills wrong to get any benifit from drills.
I agree, practice does not make perfect it makes permanent. I learned that from Russian Instructor that worked for me. If you practice wrong you get better at being wrong.
I, unfortunately, don't know enough about proper techniques so I need a coach. I also can only tell if a coach is bad by the non-swimming aspects: are they watching the swimmers, are they modifying workouts base on individual needs, are they motivating the swimmers, do they keep it fun,...
I think many of the posters here are in the same boat. If you don't have a strong background in competitive swimming you have to rely on the coach for guidance. :2cents:
(desperately, trying to word this so I don't Creep you or Fort out;))
