Should I use the Classic Converter or Swimulator for conversion times?

I was just calculating my SCY times into LCM in preparation for summer nationals, and I noticed that the conversion times SwimSwam's classic converter gives me are vastly different than what their new "Swimulator" conversion give me. For example, for the 100 free, the swimulator conversion gives me a time 3.68 seconds faster than the classic converter (!), but for the 100 backstroke and butterfly, swimulator's conversions are 3 to 3.7 seconds _slower_ than the classic conversion. I hadn't expected such big differences between the two. Any recommendation on which one to use?

  • I think I "earned" a PHD in that time conversion back when - 35 years ago coming from all meters swimming into yards .... I looked at my times for converter now and they are pretty close - so not sure ... I think the new converter is also different because UW has changed the impact of more turns so much - but only IF you are good at underwater.

LCM = real swimming :)  at least for me and even more now with crazy UW kicking having changed the sport into an underwater contest ...
