I will say this about Tennessee and their late 1970s program under "the man" ..... Ray Bussard. They totally dominated and changed sprint freestyle in their day. They totally stacked the 50 free finals of the NCAAs like no other team since.... including Auburn. It was an impressive feat to say the least.
His teams always had a lot of spirit..... some crazy initiation stories.... but a legendary past none the less.
As for big egos........... you must have a decent sized ego to properly swim the 50 free..... :-)
