2) Many varieties of flowering trees in the Spring (such as White and Pink Dogwoods, Tulip Magnolias, Redbuds, Bradford Pear Trees, and Cherry Trees just to name a few).
~~~~> Texas has many blooming trees
3) "Real" mountains....and covered in wild flowers of every kind during the Spring.
4) Just about anything that one normally associates to any one of the 3 "supposedly separate" non-summer seasons.
~~~> I think the problem might be that you lived near Houston
5) A decent College football team (such as the "real" U.T.....i.e. The Proud Volunteers!)
~~~> UT Austin won the ROSE BOWL last year
Actually there is a whole lot of things that you "CAN'T" see in the woderful state of Texas (which I know b/c I lived there most of my life and then moved to the beatiful State of Tennessee afterwards!!)....Like:
